Could a teacher be a good candidate for a MPA (Master of Public Administration?)

Could a teacher be a good candidate for a MPA (Master of Public Administration?)?
I hold a bachelor's degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations (you would think I could spin this) and a minor in Non-Profit Management which is a perfect fit for an MPA. I am interested in Public Administration with support work in Political Science. My long term goal is to serve the community as a city manager. I have been teaching social studies for five years in a public school. How can I make this be an asset as an MPA candidate?

Yeah, that's good experience for entry into that sort of program. By definition, we teachers are civil servants as well.
