I will throw out some suggestions in no particular order: The effect of recession on government (local or state or federal) HR departments. The effects of changing demographics on public administration (e.g. aging population, immigrant population, etc.). A content analysis of the nation's best MPA programs (e.g. Indiana, Syracuse, Georgia). Anything on privatization and contracting (e.g. you could conduct a couple case studies and see what common themes emerge). Benefits of partnerships with nonprofit/community-based organizations. The impact of public management networks. An analysis of why MPA graduates are increasingly choosing employment in the private sector rather than public sector. Good luck with your thesis!

Masters of Public Administration or Law School
Masters of Public Administration or Law School?
I am an undergraduate trying to earn my BA in Sociology. I can't make up my mind as to which I would rather do. I know that I want a career that is constantly helping people, fulfilling, and intellectually satisfying. I truly can't decide which I would rather do. I guess what I am asking is A) advice and B) what are some of the different aspects of each job and C) anything else you know or wish to share.

Why not both? You can never have too much education.

Those are the two career paths for MPAs. Your call - but having an internship at either is a great resume credential.
